Natalie is a fully registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency. She enjoys working with children, adolescents and adult patients at Harding Street Medical Clinic in Coburg, Geddes Street Medical Centre and in a private psychology clinic in Moonee Ponds.
Natalie provides a collaborative therapeutic relationship for her clients using her engaging and down to earth interpersonal style. She aims to reduce emotional distress and strengthen client resilience to support clients to achieve their counselling goals.
Natalie completed her Masters in Counselling Psychology at La Trobe University and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). Natalie works from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Natalie has experience in treating adults with mood (such as depression & bipolar) and anxiety disorders, perinatal and postnatal depression and sleep disorders. She also works with people experiencing ‘life’ problems such as parenting issues, relationship conflict, career dissatisfaction and stress management.
Prior to receiving full psychological registration, Natalie worked with children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities for five years and was a trainer and assessor for adults hoping to become foster parents. She has also worked with families affected by Victorian bushfires in Kinglake and Whittlesea areas.

Individual Sessions (Face to Face):
$190 (Session 1 only - 1.5hrs) - Includes Psychological Support plus Assessment (with Mental Health Care Plan the Gap cost is $103.85)
$155 (All sessions thereafter) - 50 minute psychological session (with Mental Health Care Plan the Gap cost is $68.85)
$145 for students/concession card holders (with Mental Health Care Plan the Gap cost is $58.85)
Payment for sessions is required on the day of service.
Individual Telehealth Sessions and Phone-Based Sessions:
These have been released from 30/03/2020 in response to the COVID-19 crisis. If you would a like a telehealth appointment, the rates are the same as face to face sessions.
Cancellation Fees:
A 100% CANCELLATION FEE will be charged if less than 24 hours notice cancellation is given. Late cancellations result in income lost and also mean that other clients have lost the opportunity for an appointment. There are no Medicare reimbursements for cancellation fees charged.
Medicare:
A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from a Medical Practitioner directed to ‘Natalie Butyn’ can offer up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year. See the Australian Government MHCP Fact Sheet on the Better Access to Mental Health Scheme.
Private Health Insurance:
Check with your insurer for rebate details. In most cases, private health rebates can be claimed for your session onsite via our HICAPS facility.
Reports & Assessments:
Please contact us for further information. Reports and assessments incur different fees on a case by case basis and generally cannot be reimbursed through Medicare.
